About Us

Why did we choose the name “Il Prato del Fauno “? The name comes from the owner’s early study of the Greek, Roman and Etruscan mythology when he discovered how much the family’s land is linked to the old and pure tradition of these ancient times.

The Fauno is a protector of the lands, of the peasants that respect nature and in general is a guardian of the natural country cosmos that controls the people that respect nature as a mother of everything.

Normally a Fauno is represented with the ears and tail of horse with the rest of the body human. This is because it is a son of nature and represents the links that is very close between the world of humans and animals, teaching us we all live in this world together and should respect it.

Lucio is the organiser of all the activities at the house. He is also an artist that works in the classical style, especially when sculpting in stone, looking for the purity of the shapes that in the past ages artists gave the materials.

Today “Prato del Fauno” is a place where the primary goal is to find the quietness and the peace of the body and of the senses for a period that will make you feel in contact with nature.
